So this weekend I got addicted to the Discovery Channel's show Extreme Engineering.
And for those of you who don't know it, I did dabble with the idea of going into engineering when I was at college. This idea did not last long, but I did consider it. Anyway, when I see stuff like this it gets me pretty excited.
So I watch quite a few episodes on our Netflix via. XBox (another totally favorite thing), but the one that stood out was the Hong Kong airport. There was nothing simple about this project.
I found a link for an interactive tour so that you can get a first hand experience.
I know this post is a long time coming, thanks for your patience. That is amazing. They actually recycled and island [the mountains] and made a bigger island. The bridge alone is big project the rest of it just blows my mind. If you want to consider it wasn't just building and island; it's an island that is more than 2 miles long; supports the weight of many airliners; and is the employment location for 45,000 personnel. Good Job! Thanks for the link, what a great story.
